Balata Cabalgatas
Single-page site for booking horseback rides: the booking is built in the form and sent over WhatsApp.
The challenge
Balata offers guided horseback rides in the hills, with lunch, afternoon tea or a night ride. It needed a page that showed the experience with large photos and led straight to booking, without setting up a reservation system or a server.
How I solved it
- The booking is sent over WhatsApp. The form builds the message with name, activity, group size and date, and opens WhatsApp. There is no database or email to maintain, and the conversation starts directly with whoever answers.
- Everything is configured from a single file. Each section (cover, activities, gallery, reviews, FAQ, location, booking) is switched on or off from there, and texts and photos are named in the same place. The same base works for another tourism business.
- Large photos without losing speed. They are served in AVIF and WebP in several sizes, the map loads only when tapped and the animations are pure CSS.
- I deployed it on Cloudflare Pages. Since the page does not need PHP, a traditional hosting was not required: it is built from GitHub and published with tuned security headers and caching.
